We have just successfully completed our second week of summer camp. “Look What’s Cooking” - Make It, Shake It or Bake It was a huge success!
We had classrooms full of happy, enthusiastic children who thoroughly enjoyed their cooking experiences and the crafts that went along with each day’s project. On Friday they took home a recipe box that they had made that held many child-friendly, healthy recipes for them to share with their families. I also gave out a great article on the first day to the families about why cooking with your child is such an important learning, growing and bonding experience.
If you are in church on Sunday take a moment to look at the summer camp display boards upstairs and the two poster boards on the downstairs wall to see some great picture highlights of the past two weeks. You can see by all the smiling faces that everyone was enjoying themselves.
Our third session for summer camp is August 2 - 4 - 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Session three is entitled “Super Safari Adventures”. We are inviting the children to join us for a week of jungle fever. We will be hot on the trail of amazing animals. We will take a safari adventure filled with animal sights and sounds. Grab your binoculars and come join us!
We continue to show new families through our facilities. Last week we had a set of twins enroll. Marie Kelly handed out PDO brochures to the families of VBS children last week. We were excited to see so many children attending VBS. Marie did an amazing job and the children had so many exciting opportunities to have fun, learn more about God, and interact and play with other children in their age group. Thanks go out to all the volunteers who made this program such a BIG success.
We continue to talk up and spread the news about our Parents’ Day Out/Preschool Program. We are looking forward to our Open House August 26th and our first day of the new school year Monday, August 30th. We will be doing our home visits the first week of August and look forward to welcoming our returning and new students.
Please continue to keep our program in your prayers. Stay cool and bon appétit!
